It is against the law for me to make any comment regarding price or value because I can't see it, feel it, measure or test it.

As a comparison you could do a search through your favorite search engine or even check places like eBay. This might give you a ball park figure anyway.

Remember when you purchased it originally, you didn't buy just gold and gemstones. You purchased the gold miners and refiners profits, the gem miners and dealers profits, the exported - the importer - the Manufacturer and Wholesalers' profits.

Then came the Retailer's profits and just to cap it all off - the government wanted a slice and charged you a Sales Tax and or Import duty as well. Phew!

So no matter what the new price - the price on the open secondhand market has nothing to do with an appraisal valuation anyway. If you need to get it insured then you must get a written appraisal from a qualified gemologist appraiser who might NOT be your local FRIENDLY jeweler.

There will be a charge for this but it is the only way you are going to know and can stop guessing.
